In Memory of Robert A. Fobbe

It is with great sorrow that our Lodge reports the death of our distinguished Brother and Past Master, Robert A. Fobbe.

Bro. Bob was initiated, passed and raised at Florence Lodge No. 949.  He served as Master of Florence Lodge and later served for many years as chaplain of the Lodge.  In honor of Bob’s long and honorable service, Florence Lodge designated their building the Robert A. Fobbe Masonic Temple.

In 1977 Bro. Bob served as District Deputy Grand Master for then District 27 under Most Worshipful Grand Master John E. Moyers.

Bro. Bob became a dual member of Petersburg (now Elvin E. Helms) Lodge No. 926 on December 9, 1980.  He served as Master of our Lodge in 1990.  As with Florence Lodge, Bro. Bob also served our Lodge as chaplain for many years.

Bro. Bob was also a member of William O. Ware Lodge of Research No. 999, having affiliated on September 12, 1991.

Bro. Bob was a member of the Ancient & Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Covington, where he held the 32° KCCH.  He was a member and Past Worthy Patron of Florence Star Chapter No. 559 of the Order of the Eastern Star.  He was also a member and Past Royal Patron of Queen Esther Court No. 21, Order of the Amaranth.  Bob subsequently served as Grand Royal Patron of the Order of the Amaranth in Kentucky.  Bro. Bob was also a member of Kishmee Grotto of the Mystic Order of the Veiled Prophets of the Enchanted Realm.

Bob served his country as a member of the U. S. Air Force and retired after many years of service at General Motors.

Bro. Robert A. Fobbe was a Mason by nature as well as in name.  His influence and example will live long after him.  He will greatly missed by all who knew him.  Farewell, Brother, Farewell.
